About Us
Orphans
Song was founded by Martha Murray and Kim Dixon because of their
mutual love and desire to help orphaned children.
Martha's Story:
From the time Martha was 10 years of age, she wanted to be a
missionary. In 1999, Martha had the opportunity to travel to China
to work in orphanages and care for orphaned children. While on
this trip, a tiny orphan girl pulled at her pant leg and looked
longingly up at her, as if to say, "Please, take me home."
Martha never forgot that tiny girl and her pleading brown eyes.
She prayed daily that the Lord would provide a way for her to
go back to China, not only to help the orphan children, but to
adopt an orphan child of her own.
Martha knew that no request is ever too small for the Lord. In
2002, the Lord provided the funding and the way to return to China
so Martha and her husband could adopt their little daughter, Hannah.
Martha's story could have ended there, but she had a great love
in her heart for China, the Chinese people, and for all orphaned
children. She just had to help.
Martha has been involved as the China Coordinator for an adoption
agency ever since. She helps to unite families with precious children
who want and need a forever family. Since adopting Hannah,
she has also made several trips to work in various orphanages
to assist the nannies in various ways, such as, rocking the little
babies and providing many needed supplies.
Kim's Story:
Kim and her husband, Daryl, have two teenage children. In their
late forties they felt the Lord pulling at their hearts to adopt
a little girl. One Sunday in 2006, they found themselves at the
local library attending a meeting about international adoptions.
It was at this meeting, that Kim and her husband met Martha.
It was as if the Lord had brought them together for just that
moment in time. Martha began to tell them about a sweet, little
2-year-old orphan girl in China who needed a forever family.
She showed them her picture; tears filled their eyes, and it was
love at first sight. It is the miracle of falling in love with
a picture of a child who lives half way around the world. Seven
months later, Kim and her husband traveled to China to adopt their
new daughter, Karly.
Karly has brought such joy to their home, that they will be traveling
once again to China in 2008 to adopt another little girl.
Both Martha and Kim have a special love in their hearts for orphaned
children who need love and a forever family. They believe
that every child deserves a safe, clean place to live. Every child
needs to feel the love of a family.
